Fiat has announced that a new model of the Fiat Bravo is presently under development and that the new model will arrive in showrooms by 2013. Here’s a rendering of what the car might look like. There is also a rendering of the station wagon version of the next-gen Bravo, since the new bravo will also have station wagon version spun off its platform.

The next-generation Fiat Bravo will be based on the Alfa Romeo Giuletta’s platform, which will also form the basis for many of the Fiat group’s future products for Europe and the United States. The next-generation Fiat Bravo will also have a sedan, spun of its platform, thereby completing a family consisting of a hatchback, a sedan and a station wagon.

The engine options for the new Bravo family of cars will include petrol as well as diesel engines. The petrol engine options will include the 1.6-litre and 1.8-litre AirTorq motors with power outputs of 125 and 140 bhp respectively. The petrol engine range will be rounded off by the 1.8-litre, direct injection and turbocharged engine producing over 200 bhp. The diesel engines will include engines from Fiat’s Multijet family of engines like the 1.3, 1.6 and 2.0-litre oil burning mills.
