Spied – 2013 Mercedes S-Class

2013 Mercedes S-Class

Mercedes has begun development of the all-new, next-generation S-Class, and here’s proof of it. Spies have caught one of the early prototypes of the next-gen S-Class testing in and around Germany.

The S-Class appears to be longer and wider than the car which it will succeed as the new flagship in the Mercedes lineup. The car will draw a lot of inspiration for its design and styling from the Mercedes F700 concept unveiled a few years ago.

The new S-Class will in all probability feature engines from Mercedes’s new MoVe (Modular V-Engine) range of engines, consisting of bothV6′s and V8′s. The engines will be equipped with direct fuel injection and turbocharging.

The new S-Class may never be offered with a V12 like the current S600/S65 AMG, but a hybrid version is a definite possibility.
