The 2015 Ford Mustang is doing really well in the USA, as January sales figures reveal that the 2015 Mustang has drastically outsold the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro and the duo lead the muscle car sales chart last month stateside.
Ford sold 8,694 units of the 2015 Mustang in January 2015, with an impressive growth of 124% over January 2014 (3,881 units). General Motors managed to sell 4,991 units of the Chevrolet Camaro in Jaunary 2015, with a growth of just 5.5% over January 2014 (4,773 units).
Although the 2015 Dodge Challenger missed the second spot in January sales by 399 units, its sales grew by whopping 86.8% over January 2014.
The 2015 Ford Mustang is the sixth-generation model which was launched just last year while the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro is an updated version of the fifth-generation model which went on sale in 2009. Thus, the 2015 Mustang has the new-car advantage over the Camaro.
Taking its age and the competition into consideration, the Camaro did not necessarily have a bad month but the scenario should change later this year with the launch of the sixth-generation Camaro. The 2016 Camaro will be based on the rear-drive Alpha platform borrowed from the Cadillac ATS and its official debut is expected at the New York Auto Show in April.
