Subaru UK has given its XV crossover a new look with a string of interior and chassis changes, promising a more engaging and comfortable drive.
The updated crossover features an all-new touchscreen infotainment system that was earlier seen in the new Subaru Outback. The 7-inch infotainment screen comes with voice control and navigation. Moreover, it also incorporates a better smartphone compatibility system, wherein the users can download a range of applications from their phones or tablets onto the screen via Starlink. The infotainment system also boasts a rear view camera, presenting a 160-degree field of view behind the car when reversing.
Apart from that, the interior design has been overhauled for a better ambience. There’s also an extra USB jack and restyled cup-holders with sliding covers.
In addition to that, Subaru engineers have worked hard to reduce the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) felt in the cabin. This has been made possible with the use of new “under-bonnet insulators, extra sound-deadening material throughout the floor of the car, and sealing and sound-absorbing materials around the front and rear quarter lights and door lips”.
Meanwhile, the suspension has been retuned for a more smoother ride and improved handling during corners. The steering ratio and ground clearance have been increased, while the centre of gravity of the crossover has been lowered.
There’s no change to the pricing of the car, with the base model costing £21,995 and the top variant coming for £25,995. The Subaru XV features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and comes equipped with the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive powertrain and the brand’s advanced Vehicles Dynamics Control system.
