This is probably the very first rendering of the all-new Audi A5 coupe created after the debut of the all-new Audi A4. The rendering, artwork of Julien Jodry from Auto-Moto, is less of speculation and more based on reality. Apart from being based on the all-new A4, it also takes hints from the coupe’s test mule that was spotted for the first time last month on the roads.
The Audi A4 is set to have a world debut at the 2015 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in September, while the coupe would likely have its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. The S5 coupe would also debut with the A5 coupe, while the high-performance derivative, the Audi RS 5 coupe, shouldn’t be expected before 2017.
The 2016 Audi A5/2016 Audi S5 coupe range should be offered with 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine options with power outputs ranging from 190 hp to 252 hp, and a range of 2.0- & 3.0-litre TDI diesel engines with power outputs ranging from 190 hp to 272 hp. Transmission options should include 6-speed manual, 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch and 8-speed tiptronic automatic. The next generation model will be lighter, thanks to the new MLB Evo platform that it will ride on.
The all-new A5/S5 coupe will gain new technologies like the Audi virtual cockpit, Matrix LED headlights, latest MMI Navigation plus infotainment system based on second generation modular infotainment platform – with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, parking assist, collision avoidance assist, camera-based traffic-sign recognition, Audi pre sense city, basic & rear, rear cross-traffic assist, exit warning and more.
