An unauthorized image of the 2016 BMW 7 Series has surfaced on the web, fully revealing its side profile. Following the leak of the rear-end, front fascia, dashboard and the steering wheel and instrument cluster, this is another major leak of the next generation model that comes out later this year. The side profile overall looks similar to that of the current one.
The chrome strip along the rear quarter panel is a little thicker and there are newly designed wheels that stand out. The horizontal fender badge has now been replaced with what looks like vertical fender air vents which continue from its bottom to the rear door as a chrome body side moulding. A chrome rear quarter panel moulding is also visible. The side profile also reveals the outer side of the Laser headlamps and taillamps. The headlamp looks more aggressive with a design similar to that of the latest generation 3 Series. The part of the taillamp which extends on to the rear quarter panel is now curvier.
The 130 kg lighter next generation 7 Series is likely to have its world premiere at the 2015 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in September, followed by a market launch in early 2016.
