The 2016 Buick LaCrosse has been spied inside-out in China. The MY2016 model will be an all-new one and mark the luxury sedan’s entry into its third generation.
The exterior spyshots reveal significant details about the design. Up front, there’s a modified Buick signature-grille. The sleeker window panels, a more sloping roofline and a higher shoulder-line give the sedan a coupe-like appearance from the side. The rear features new L-shaped tail lamps and redesigned tailgate and bumper.
The interior spyshot reveals that the dashboard and centre console are largely inspired from the Avenir concept that was introduced at the 2015 North American International Motor Show in Detroit. In the U.S., Apple CarPlay compatibility will be offered as standard on the IntelliLink infotainment system, while Android Auto compatibility will become available later in 2016, as per reports.
The all-new LaCrosse will ride on GM’s E2XX front-wheel drive platform which will also form basis for GM’s other future mid- and full-size vehicles, including the Buick Regal and Chevrolet Impala. It could feature a 9-speed automatic transmission too, thanks to GM’s partnership with Ford for co-developing 9- and 10-speed automatic transmissions.
For the US market, the 2016 Buick LaCrosse is expected to be unveiled at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in January and go on sale later same year.
