GM has announced accessories and performance parts for the U.S.-spec 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The sixth-gen model goes on sale in later this year.
The customization starts with the axle-back exhaust systems for the V6 and V8 engines that enhance the look of the car and the sound of the engine as well. Next in line, is the suspension lowering kit that features higher-rate front and rear coil springs along with tuned struts and shocks. This kit can lower the ride height by 20 mm thus enhancing ride quality and vehicle performance. These kits are not compatible with vehicles already having magnetic ride control and will be available by early 2016.
Brake performance can also be upgraded by opting for front brake package by Brembo with either four- or six-piston calipers. The former is available only for the 2.0-liter turbo and V6 engines, while the six-piston can be equipped on all Camaro models. These packages come with low-expansion front brake hoses and all necessary hardware.
A performance air intake is offered for the Camaro SS. It helps reduce air restriction and has a reusable open-element air filter. It will become available by early 2016. For a show-quality appearance, Chevrolet will be introducing engine covers for the V8 and V6 engines in red, blue and black colour by the end of the year. The 2.0-liter turbo engine will get one at a later stage.
There are various exterior enhancements that are offered for increasing appeal of the muscle car. Highlights can be in the form of three wheel designs in multiple finishes, grille kits with six body-colour inserts, four exterior graphics packages, smoked tail lamp lenses and blacked-out LED bowtie emblems.
