Dodge received an unprecedented reception for the hotter SRT Hellcat incarnation of the 2015 Challenger and Charger. The limited production run proved to be even more of a problem when dealers started taking orders without taking the supply shortage into consideration and so, the company had to release a special SRT Hellcat model buying guide for customers to not feel shortchanged.

FCA has now announced that it will cancel all unscheduled orders for the 2015 Hellcat models but has some good news too, especially for those frustrated of the waiting and order cancellation.

The company is more than doubling production of the SRT Challenger and Charger Hellcat for MY2016. Moreover, customers whose verified sold orders weren’t built in the 2015 model year will be offered a special discounted pricing if they re-order in 2016 for the updated Hellcat model.

The 2016 Dodge SRT Hellcat Challenger and Charger get Laguna Leather interior appointments, Uconnect 8.4AN 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, HD radio and a five year subscription of SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Traffic as standard.

MY2016 order allocation plan will be released to the dealers in August and allocation will be adjusted on dealers’ average historical SRT Challenger and Charger Hellcat “days on lot” or performance, i.e. average speed of stock clearance. Two allocation cycles are planned for MY2016 – August 2015 and February 2016.

The 2016 SRT Hellcat allocation will continue to be based on past sales performance for the brand. If dealers keep the inventory moving, they will qualify for February allocation plan. SRT Hellcat will become available to order in the second week of August and go into production in September.

Dealers will be dispatched their MY2016 SRT Hellcat in two parts – the first half in beginning of August 2015 and the second half in February 2016. Dealers won’t be able to order more than their alloted units, of course.
