The 2016 Fiat 500 and 2016 Fiat 500c have been snapped completely undisguised during an advertising shoot in Turin, Italy, by ICS Photography.
The changes on the front include addition of chrome and LED daytime running lights surrounding the fog lamps. At the rear, the tailgate has been modified for larger number plates, and with it a wider chrome number plate trim. The new taillamps don’t include reversing lights anymore. The rear bumper has also been tweaked to feature a full-length chrome strip, with fog lamps on either side. The right lamp houses the reversing light.
The facelifted models will be officially unveiled on July 4 in Italy. Going by FCA’s leaked internal documents, the 2016 Fiat 500 would go on sale in Europe on July 11. Two engine options – a 0.9-litre TwinAir turbocharged two-cylinder petrol and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol will be offered on the range.
On the inside, updates will include changes to the dashboard and glovebox, and a new steering wheel with chrome inserts. Technology-wise, the major upgrade would be the new Fiat U-connect infotainment system with satellite navigation as an option. Lastly, new fabric and leather upholstery will be introduced to make the cabin look more pleasing.
