Manny Galvan of Gaudin Ford which is a Ford dealership in Las Vegas, allegedly revealed the production numbers of the 2016 Ford Mustang GT350/GT350R in a Facebook post, as per a report from Mustang6g.
The 2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V8 engine that produces over 500 hp and 542 Nm of torque. The company’s most powerful naturally aspirated production engine sends sends power to the rear-axle via a six-speed manual transmission.
As per the report, the model which goes on sale later this year, will be limited to 5,000 units.
The Shelby GT350R Mustang which was unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, will go on sale later this year in the U.S. and Canada. The most track-capable Mustang ever has the same engine specifications and transmission as the Shelby GT350. Where it differentiates itself, is in its track capability.
The ‘R’ version is 130 pounds (59 kg) lighter than the standard GT350 equipped with Track Pack. There are a number of distinctive performance features also like the hood vent for heat extraction and lift reduction, side skirts, carbon fiber rear wing, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 high-performance tires and so on. As per the report, the GT350R will have a limited-production run of 500 units.
