Ford has announced that the all-new Ford GT350R Mustang is now into production with the first unit rolling-off the production line from its Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan, USA.
The 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang was unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in January in Detroit. Ford claims the GT350R to be the most athletic Mustang ever, capable to tackle challenging roads and race tracks with equal aplomb.
Speaking on the occasion Bill Ford, Executive Chairman, Ford Motor Company said, “We have taken the GT350 formula to the next level of innovation, style and performance. Today the legend continues.” He also went on to add that the rolling-off of the GT350R from the production facility marks a special day for all Mustang enthusiasts.
The 2016 GT350R Mustang features a 5.2-litre V8 engine incorporating a flat-plane crank that puts out 526 hp and 429 lb-ft (581.64 Nm) of torque. The engine is mated to a TREMEC 3160 6-speed manual transmission.
It features a MagneRide Damping System which self adjusts thousand times in a second to deliver a dynamic driving experience. Stopping power is provided by Brembo callipers with 15.5-inch cross drilled rotors at the front and 14.9-inch rotors in the rear teamed with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Other features include Track Apps, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Adaptive Cruise Crontrol and SYNC3 infotainment system.
