Honda has announced the updated MY 2016 Accord Coupe in the United States of America. The manufacturer had announced the MY 2016 Accord Sedan in the previous weeks.
The coupe version of the Accord gets similar exterior tweaks seen in its sedan sibling. It gets a redesigned grille, new LED fog lamps (Sport trim and above), Acura inspired LED headlamps (Touring trim), new aluminium hood with sharper lines and redesigned front bumpers.
The taillamps also have been reworked and feature LED integration along with a new aggressive rear bumper. The coupe will be offered in two unique paint schemes namely ‘Still Night Pearl’ and ‘Deep Blue Opal Metallic’ along with the regular options. The touring trim will also feature a new design 19 inch alloy wheels.
The interiors receive a piano black trim and will feature redesigned dials. A new brushed aluminum trim inserts will be offered along with a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Honda Sensing will also be offered on all Accord models with driver assistance technologies like Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) among others.
Customers can choose between two engine options, a 2.4-litre inline-4 i-VTEC engine that produces 189 hp at 6,400 rpm and 246 Nm (182 lb-ft) of torque mated to a six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission or a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 that produces 278 hp at 6,200 rpm and 341 Nm (252 lb-ft) of torque mounted to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
The 2.4 litre engine variants have been priced from $23,775 for the base LX-S trim while the top spec EX-L Coupe Navi with Honda Sensing priced at $30,745. The V6 engine variants have been priced from $30,925 for the EX-L V6 while the Touring V6 has been priced at $34,125.
