Kia has revealed the exterior of the 2016 Kia Cadenza for the first time in official images. The all-new Kia Cadenza, known as the Kia K7 in its home market South Korea, now sports a more upmarket look.
The body of the second generation Kia Cadenza looks sharper and is inspired by “European luxury sedan styling.” The car has been given a lower and wider stance which helps in giving it a sporty look. The front of the 2016 Cadenza features a new interpretation of the ‘tiger-nose’ grille, LED headlamps with four-point LED DRLs, quad fog lamp unit and a few chrome accents.
The sides have prominent wheel arches, swept-back roofline, rising shoulder line and a beltline that kicks up at the C-pillar. The rear gets LED tail lamps with a full-width chrome strip above them, chrome-finished twin tail pipes and a 3.3 badge on the boot lid.
Not much information is available about the interior of the all-new Cadenza but from the teaser image previously revealed, it can be said that chrome and wooden accents are used generously. Three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and an infotainment screen mounted on the dashboard were also visible in the teaser image. Kia had also stated that the quality of materials used in the cabin will be “higher than ever before.”
The technical specifications have not been revealed yet, but the 3.3 badge might be a giveaway. Some reports say that it points to the newly-developed 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that will also do duty in the Genesis G90 luxury sedan. This unit – in the G90– is rumored to produce 370 hp (272 kW) and will probably be coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 2016 Kia Cadenza is expected to go on sale in international markets in H1 2016.
