Lexus has announced the 2016 CT 200h for the U.S. market. This will probably be the last update for first generation model that received a facelift in 2013 for MY2014. The second generation CT 200h is said to arrive as MY2017 model. The compact hatchback hasn’t received any significant upgrades for MY2016 though.
The 2016 CT 200h does not get any changes in terms of technical specifications, but comes with a few cosmetic changes and technological upgrades. There’s a new chrome surround grille and option for a moonroof. Moreover, the updated CT 200h also gains optional Lexus Enform Remote and Lexus Enform Service Connect.
With the Lexus Enform Remote now available, owners can control various functions of the car through their smartphones (like door lock/unlock, stop/start the engine and climate control). The Lexus Enform Service Connect will allow customers to remotely view information about their car remotely via the MyLexusandBeyond mobile application for iOS or via LexusDrivers.com. Maintenance alerts, warning light notifications, diagnostic information, service campaign alerts and more become remotely available with this subscription service.
The CT 200h is powered by a 134-hp hybrid powertrain. The power is transmitted to the front axle of the car via an Electronically-controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT). Lexus claims that the CT 200h offers a fuel economy of 42 mpg (17.86 km/l) and that equipping it with the F Sport Package also improves performance apart from offering a sportier design.
