The Lincoln MKS was first introduced to the market in 2008 and has remained in its first-generation. An updated report from Autoevolution claims that the mysterious Lincoln vehicle set for 2015 New York International Auto Show debut (as seen here) will be either the 2016 Lincoln MKS in production-spec version or a concept version.
The styling and design cues would be inspired from the MKC crossover which in turn, is inspired from the MKZ sedan’s design language. The 2016 MKS will share its underpinnings with the Ford Taurus. The all-new model is likely to offer a new 2.9-liter EcoBoost V6 engine (codename: Nano) with power output of about 300 hp and the nine-speed automatic transmission that would be a jointly developed unit by Ford and GM, as per the report. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine which is currently the most powerful one on the current model range will continue to be offered.
The price range of the 2015 MKS in the U.S. starts at US$38,850. But of course, these prices have dropped over the time as the model aged. The prices of the new-generation model should go up by somewhere around 10-15% from the current prices. When it arrives on the marketplace, it’ll rival luxury sedans like the Buick LaCrosse, the Cadillac XTS and the Lexus ES.
