Mercedes-AMG has revealed a teaser video of the 2016 C63 AMG Coupe ahead of the car’s debut at the 2015 Franfurt Motor Show next month.
In the short clip, the potent C63 AMG S can be seen sporting a performance body kit and several aerodynamic features. It also has carbon-ceramic brakes and 19-inch matte black wheels. Nonetheless, the basic blueprint remains the same as that of the 2016 C-Class Coupe, which was recently unveiled by Mercedes.
The C63 AMG Coupe will primarily compete with the BMW M4 for market space. Like the AMG GT, it will be available in two states of tune. The standard model’s engine will produce 469 bhp and 649 Nm of torque, while the more powerful S model’s engine will produce 503 bhp and 700 Nm of torque. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed automatic transmission will be revised.
The C63 AMG Coupe will have four driving modes- Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. The S model will also get a Race driving mode for extreme performance. The hydraulic steering system will be dumped for an electromechanical one. There will also be a custom-tuned suspension, lower centre of gravity and specific camber rates.
Deliveries of the C63 AMG Coupe are expected to start in UK in November this year and markets outside Europe should expect the high performance sports coupe in 2016.
