Mercedes-AMG has revealed full details of the 2016 Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe ahead of its world premiere alongside the standard Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The all-new Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe will be introduced in the market by March 2016. The high-performance variant gets visual enhancements like an aggressive front bumper, flared wheel arches, front splitters along with a redesigned grille and large air intakes. The AMG coupe is 64 mm wider in the front and 66 mm at the rear.
The sides feature special side skirts with the lateral inward step emphasising the width of the car. The rear of the coupe takes its inspiration from the S-Class Coupe while also featuring a motorsport derived diffuser, slender tail lamps along with chrome quad tail pipes. Additionaly, laterally positioned air openings are incorporated into the rear bumpers to improve air flow.
The interiors feature high grade materials and smoother surfaces depicting quality workmanship. The standard sport seats will get ARTICO/microfiber DINAMICA faux leather trim. Additionally the coupe can be specified with performance seats which are strongly contoured for lateral comfort and offer a lower seating position.
The high-powered coupe will get safety futures like Attention Assist and Collision Prevention Assist. It will also offer AMG Ride Control suspension with adjustable damping. The C 63 Coupe will get a mechanical rear limited-slip differential while the C 63 S Coupe will feature an electronic rear limited-slip differential for optimum traction. Other features include AMG Dynamic Select transmission modes, a three stage ESP and the incorporation of dynamic engine mounts to enhance precision.
Mercedes-AMG claims that the engine in the C 63 is similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT with dry-sump lubrication design. The C 63 Coupe futures a twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 engine that produces 350 kW (476 hp) of power and 650 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed automatic sports transmission. The C 63 Coupe can accelerate 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.0 seconds and has an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The C 63 S coupe will feature an up-rated version of the twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 producing 375 kW (510 bhp) of power along with 700 Nm of torque. The engine will also be mated to AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed automatic sports transmission.
