The 2016 Mercedes C-Class Coupe has been officially revealed ahead of its world debut at the 2015 Franfurt Motor Show next month. The all-new coupe features lightweight construction along with optimized aerodynamics and added driver assistance systems to deliver an enhanced driving experience.
The all-new model gets a new front end featuring a long bonnet along with the diamond radiator grille. The new coupe is longer than the previous version by 60 mm (2.36 inches) between the firewall and front axle, while it has grown by 95 mm (3.7 inches) in length and 40 mm (1.5 inches) in width.
It features typical styling seen on coupes with a lowered greenhouse and frameless doors incorporating a rear-end design with a distinctive Mercedes coupe gene. An AMG Line model will also be available, featuring sporty bumpers and body lines along with 18-inch AMG light alloy wheels.
The interiors of the AMG Line will get sporty seats with ARTICO faux Leather and DINAMICA micro-fibre in black hue with contrast stitching. The interiors also boast of an open-pore black ash trim, aluminium inserts in the dashboard and doors along with a flat-bottom steering wheel and AMG pedals.
The new C-Class coupe gets driver assistance systems like Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Distronc Plus with Steering Assist and Stop & Go, updated Active Lane Keeping Assist and PRE-SAFE PLUS. It also incorporates a 360 degree camera and climate control which works with the navigation to detect tunnels to switch between re-circulated air and fresh air modes.
The coupe also features Agility Control and AIRMATIC air suspension with Dynamic Select. Four petrol and two diesel engine models will be offered globally:
C 180 – 115 kW (156 hp) 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol
C 200 – 135 kW (184 hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol
C 250 – 155 kW (211 hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol
C 300 – 180 kW (245 hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol
C 220d – 125 kW (170 hp) 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel
C 250d – 150 kW (204 hp) 2.1-litre four-cylinder diesel
The 2016 Mercedes C-Class Coupe will arrive in first markets in December.
