The 2016 Mercedes GLS (2016 Mercedes GL) has been leaked ahead of its world debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Three images, two showing the front and one revealing the rear of the facelifted model, have been published by Worldscoop.
As expected, the facelift has given the SUV the now-familiar front fascia that includes updated headlamp, upper grille, lower grille, bumper, air vents and skid plates. The hood has also been updated for a more fluidic design. The side profile apparently remains the same, while the rear-end gets new tweaked tail lamp and chrome tail pipe finisher.
The facelifted model is expected to continue with the same engines. There could be revisions in output and efficiency at most, but no hardware changes. The real change under the hood will be that the old 7-speed 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission is replaced by the latest 9-speed 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic. The interior of the new model is likely gain an updated COMAND infotainment system with touchpad controller, and a new steering wheel.
The 2016 Mercedes GLS is said to become available for pre-order later this year and reach dealerships in early 2016 in first markets.
