A new rendering from Top Speed previews how the 2016 Mercedes SLC-Class could look like. The SLC-Class will, in a way, replace the SLK-Class. The replacement actually is a facelift for the compact luxury roadster but carrying the company’s new variant nomenclature. The facelifted model will sport the brand’s new design and styling inspired from the cars which already feature them – the S-Class and the C-Class.
The new model will get restyled LED headlights and taillights, modified front and rear bumpers and new alloy wheels in the exterior. The interior will be refreshed with new upholstery choices, latest infotainment system and comfort features. The car’s safety technologies will also be updated to the latest ones offered.
A recent report suggests that a new SLC 450 AMG may replace the currently sold SLK 55 AMG, with a 5.5-litre AMG V8 engine producing 416 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The same report claims that pre-orders for the facelift will start from 18 December, with deliveries commencing in March 2016. This is a strong indication that the Mercedes SLC may world premiere at the 2015 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in September.
