The all-new 2016 MINI Clubman is set to make its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) tomorrow with increased interior space, enhanced driving dynamics along with addition of new equipment. The all-new model will be launched in the market on 31 October and be offered with six engine options.
The 2016 Clubman features an increase in dimensions, with it being 27 cm longer and 9 cm wider along with a wheelbase that is 10 cm larger than the MINI 5-door, which it is based on. The rear seats feature 40 : 20 : 40 split function which enables the luggage space to be increased from 360 litres to 1250 litres with the seats folded down.
To enhance the driving experience MINI will also be offering a new optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission along with a host of features like electric brake, powered seats and optional MINI Yours interior styles with backlit door bezels. The 2016 Clubman will also be offered with the MINI Excitement Package which includes LED interior ambient lighting along and unique logo projection to the ground from the external mirror on the driver’s side door when it is opened. It also sports a new Comfort Access option which enables non-contact opening of the rear split doors.
The 2016 Clubman range will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines. The entry level MINI One Clubman is powered by a three cylinder petrol engine that produces 102 hp (75 kW) and has a fuel efficiency rating between 44.38 to 46.2 mpg (18.86 -19.64 km/l) with combined CO2 emissions between 199 -124g/km. Moving up the Cooper Clubman is powered by a three cylinder petrol engine that produces 136 hp (100 kW) and has a fuel efficiency rating between 44.38 to 46.2 mpg (18.86 -19.64 km/l) with combined CO2 emissions between 118-123g/km.
The top of the line Cooper S Clubman is powered by a four cylinder petrol engine that puts out 192 hp (141 kW) and has a fuel efficiency rating between 37.94 to 37.34 mpg (16.12-15.87 km/l) with combined CO2 emissions between 144-147g/km.
On the diesel front the 2016 Mini One D Clubman will feature a new three cylinder diesel engine that produces 116 hp (85 kW) and has a fuel efficiency rating between 61.9 to 60.31 mpg (26.31-25.64 km/l) with combined CO2 emissions between 99-104g/km. The Cooper D Clubman features a four cylinder diesel engine that produces 150 hp (100 kW) and has fuel efficiency rating between 57.37 to 53.46 mpg (24.39-22.72 km/l) with combined CO2 emissions between 109-115g/km.
The top of the line 2016 MINI Cooper SD Clubman will feature the most powerful diesel engine in the line-up putting out 190 hp (140 kW) along with a fuel efficiency rating between 52.27 mpg (U.S) to 51.13 mpg (U.S) (22.22-21.73 km/l) with combined CO2 emissions between 119-122g/km.
