Mitsubishi has confirmed the fifth generation Pajero (Montero/Shogun in some markets). Just like Chevrolet did with the 2016 Cruze, Mitsubishi has also used Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility announcement to reveal the launch timing for the 2016 Pajero. It will be launched in Europe in summer this year and be the first Mitsubishi to be have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The compatibility will be extended to other models and regions later on.
The design and styling will be inspired from the GC PHEV concept that made its North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show in February this year. More official details have not been released yet but a report from last week did reveal a key aspect about the iconic SUV’s next-gen model. Mitsubishi won’t follow the herd by making SUVs more car-like; the next-gen model will maintain its legacy of being a hardcore SUV with outstanding off-roading capabilities.
Demand for such vehicles remain scarce in today’s market but it does exist for sure.
The next Pajero will be focused for those who truly need an off-road capable vehicle, like people who tow horse boxes or actually go off-road.
