Within a week after unveiling the Porsche Macan GTS at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show last month, the 2016 Porsche Macan has been announced with new features. The updated Macan gains the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system that debuted in the 2016 Porsche 911 (facelift), which is operated through a high resolution 7-inch touchscreen. Connectivity features include Bluetooth, USB, SD, Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay Apple iPhone integration compatability.
It is for the first time that the Porsche Macan has been endowed with full LED headlights. When used along with the optional Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus), the full LED headlights assist the driver during night time with bright lights that have an improved range. Cornering or intersection lights are also present. The new headlights make use of the navigation data from the PCM infotainment system and based on that, activate the intersection lights giving the best possible illumination into the area in which the vehicle is turning.
Porsche is also offering the Macan Turbo with additional interior and exterior packages that are inspired by the Macan GTS. The exterior package includes 21-inch bi-colour design wheels and high-gloss black accents for the air inlets, side blades, rear underbody panel and trim strips for the windows. The black theme continues at the rear with black exhaust tips and smoked tail lamps.
The interior gets Alcantara trim and contrast stitching in Rhodium Silver or Garnet Red on the seat center panels, armrests and door panels. There is Turbo lettering in contrasting colours on the seat headrests and illuminated carbon door sill plates. Furthermore, there are new exterior colours offered for the 2016 Macan and an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel is also among the options.
The 2016 Porsche Macan will be available in showrooms by early 2016 and order commencement has already begun in Germany, at the following prices:
- Macan S – €61,143
- Macan S Diesel – €60,548
