Land Rover has revealed the 2016 Range Rover Evoque ahead of its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. The 2016 model year Evoque is a mid-life facelift with refreshed styling, more features and new technologies. Exterior changes include full LED adaptive headlights, restyled front bumper, larger air intakes, option of two front grille designs, fresh alloy wheel designs, new tailgate spoiler and new tail lamp design.
The 2016 Evoque range gets new all-aluminum TD4 Ingenium diesel engine which is 20-30 kg lighter than the 2.2-litre diesel engine available on the outgoing Evoque. The engine is available in two power outputs: 148 bhp (eD4 2WD) and 178 bhp. Fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures for the 148 bhp and 178 bhp TD4 Ingenium diesel engine models are marked at 68 mpg and 109 g/km, and 59 mpg and 125 g/km respectively.
Inside, the new Evoque features new seats and door casings combined with a redesigned instrument binnacle. Soft-touch materials are used for improving the interior quality. Tauras grained leather and electrically 8-way adjustable seats are standard. Flagship models can be opted with front massage seats also. The MY2016 Evoque features InControl Touch infotainment system as standard on the SE trim and InControl Touch Plus infotainment system as standard on the HSE Dynamic and Autobiography trims.
Adding to the convenience, is the new hands-free electric tailgate function which opens and closes on detecting foot beneat the rear bumper. New safety and assistance features offered include Lane-Keeping Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, driver fatigue warning and All-Terrain Progress Control.
The 2016 Range Rover Evoque will go on sale in Europe later this year.
