The much awaited second generation 2016 Renualt Koleos will be unveiled in early-2016. It’s not clear if the ‘Koleos’ name will be dropped, but the all-new D-segment SUV will be a completely new vehicle and its positioning won’t be complicated like the current generation model.
Speaking to our sister publication IndianAutosBlog.com, Laurens van den Acker, Senior Vice President, Corporate Design, Renault, admitted that one of the issues with the Koleos is that its positioning – it is bigger than its C-segment rivals but smaller than those of the D-segment.
The design chief said that the forthcoming crossover will be “completely new”, thanks to the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-D platform, and a different size. It will be a “true D-segment crossover”, he says.
According to another report from last month, the Kadjar’s big brother will be 4.65 m long and have a boot space of around 140 litres with all the seats in place. The alleged 7-seat configuration will make it more salable, though van den Acker did not confirm the number of seats.
