The 2016 Skoda Roomster is currently one of the most highly anticipated vehicles in its segment. The family car will enter second generation with introduction of the MY2016 model.
This rendering of the 2016 Skoda Roomster illustrated by Autowereld gives yet another speculative view at the all-new model. Unlike the previous renderings, this one’s got a dual-tone exterior with white body and black painted roof. Note the addition of a radar on lower grille to provide data for the Front Assistant and Adaptive Cruise Assistant.
Reports say that the second generation Roomster will be based on the fourth generation VW Caddy that was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. Jozef Kaban, Head of Design at Skoda Auto, confirmed in February that the MY2016 models arrives early next year, and will grow in size and offer a more roomy cabin.
The VW Caddy-based Roomster, as seen in production version’s spy shots, will gain sliding doors. While, the current model is offered only in a 5-seat configuration, the next-gen model may be offered in two seating configurations 5-seat and 7-seat, thanks to the increased dimensions. There won’t be a commercial version though as the Volkswagen Group will continue serving the commercial market with the VW Caddy.
