Following the partial leak, UAE-based car importer Baniyas Cars Establishment has leaked the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser (facelift) inside-out on its Facebook page. Up front, there’s a new prominent upper grille that integrates into the new headlamps that feature LED daytime running lights, a smaller lower grille, new bumper and new fog lamp housing with smaller fog lamps.
The side profile remains the same, save for the new alloy wheel designs. The rear features new LED tail lamps that extend even more towards inwards on the tailgate, sportier bumper and wider fog lamps. The interior has been improved with a new steering wheel, instrument cluster, gear panel, gear lever and a new infotainment system.
The facelifted eighth generation Land Cruiser is also likely getting a new 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine from the new GD series of engines. The 2,755 cc mill was introduced on the Land Cruiser Prado today and the 174bhp (130kW)-engine churns out 420 Nm of torque with the current 6-speed manual transmission and 450 Nm with a new 6-speed automatic transmission on the UK-spec model.
