The Prius c gets minor changes for 2016 as major changes were already been incorporated in the 2015 upgrade. Toyota Safety Sense-C system is now available optionally. Single LED projector low- and high-beam headlights and LED tail and brake lights are standard.

The Prius c Persona Series Special Edition will go on sale in December this year and is exclusively available in Black color with a choice of two color accents – Electric Lime and Cherry Pearl. These accents are found all over the exterior such as on the lower front grille trim, beneath the headlights, on the ORVMs and on trim beneath the side windows. On the inside, this accent is applied on the interior rear-view mirror shell. Other special features are 15-inch black alloy wheels and a custom “Persona Series” badge.
Power comes from 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline engine working in conjunction with the electric motor. The gasoline engine produces 73 hp and 82 lb-ft (111 Nm) of torque. The system output is 99 hp. The hybrid car can be driven in all-electric mode for under one mile (1.6 km) with a top speed of 25 mph (40 km/h). The EPA-estimated city fuel economy is 53 mpg (22.53 kpl).
