The fourth generation 2016 Toyota Prius will have its world premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA). Along with the announcement, Toyota has also released the first teaser image of the next-gen model.
Toyota has not revealed additional details but it is known that the all-new 2016 Prius will be based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. The popular mass-market hybrid car will be the first one to be based on the company’s new modular platform.
The third generation Prius didn’t see a major redesign, but the fourth generation will. As seen in these undisguised spy shots, the all-new model will feature a whole new design & styling. The side profile and rear fascia will be reminiscent of the Mirai FCV.
Toyota will also unveil an updated version of the C-HR Concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October. Information about the new concept is limited, but it will likely preview the production version of the company’s entry-level hybrid-crossover.
The new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will also make its European debut at the 2015 IAA, along with the company’s Toyota Safety Sense line-up of advanced safety technologies. In its second generation the Toyota Safety Sense will feature the addition of Pedestrian Recognition and Adaptive Cruise Control.
