The 2016 VW Golf Clubsport concept has been teased in three sketches officially released by the company. The GTI Clubsport model seems to feature redesigned front bumpers with new air vents housed on each side of the air dam grille, new 10-spoke alloy wheels, carbon fibre mirror wrapping, Clubsport branding on the side body mouldings, a new rear diffuser and a new roof-mounted rear spoiler.
The Clubsport GTI will be positioned between the GTI and R models. Under the hood, there will be a 265 PS (261 hp) 2.0-litre turbocharged TSI petrol engine. Transmission options should include 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed DSG automatic with Tiptronic, just like the Golf GTI.
The Clubsport concept will be unveiled at Woerthersee 2015 which is to be held from 13 to 16 May in Austria and can be expected hit the markets at the most by early 2016. For those willing for a more powerful and beastly Golf, the Golf R 400 is confirmed for a Frankfurt debut this September, followed by market launch by the end of this year or early 2016.
