The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was unveiled on the June 24 as an all-new model. Automotive illustrator Theophilus Chin now previews how the second generation Cruze hatchback may eventually look like with unofficial renderings.
Features like the floating roof design, the sculpted tailgate and the slightly modified, sleek tail lamps resemble the fifth generation Opel Astra hatchback that was unveiled last month.
The second generation Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback should likely debut by late 2016 and go on sale globally as MY2017 model. Only petrol engines can be expected to be offered in the USA, while global markets will also get diesels. GM announced that the Cruze will not receive a diesel engine in USA until 2017.
The petrol engine options would include the all-new 153-hp 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that is offered on the sedan’s base model. Like the sedan, transmission options would include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
The C-Segment hatchback will rival with the Ford Focus, VW Golf, Mazda3, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
