The Chevrolet Trax has been on sale in the U.S. for less than a year. However the design seems to be a little dated as the Trax had been selling in other markets globally for three years before Chevrolet brought it to the U.S.
The Chevy Trax is due for a refresh, says Automotive News, who expect it on the 2017 model year. The publication notes that the refreshed model can arrive in 2016, marked for the 2017 model year with a front fascia redesigned to be similar to the current Chevrolet brand design.
The facelift for 2017 Chevrolet Trax is expected to give the Trax the freshness until a full redesign is readied for 2019. The latest-generation 1.4-liter ECOTEC turbocharged engine, just introduced in the Buick Encore Sport Touring, will be available with the 2017 Chevrolet Trax, expects GM Authority Blog.
To recap, the interior of the 2015 Trax features a familiar motorcycle-inspired instrument cluster and comes with Chevy’s MyLink infotainment program that displays data on a 7-inch screen, which would be updated in the new model. OnStar with 4G LTE and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot is standard. The boot capacity is rated at 530 liters which is expandable to 1,371 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
The mini SUV gets keyless entry, remote start and 10 airbags as standard and All-wheel drive is available as an option.
The current Chevrolet Trax is available in LS, LT and LTZ trims with with a starting Price of $ 20,995.
