DBK member of Ford GT Forum has shared pictures of the 2017 Ford GT finished in red body paint. It also features white racing stripes on the hood, roof and the rear-end.
The orangish tint in the red color is similar to the ‘Volcano Red’ offered in Aston Martin’s ‘Fast Track’ range of body paint choices. Orange seemingly appears only on some areas due to the excessive light. The forum member himself says that the pictures have more of an orange tint to them than when seen in person. No body paint on Ford Performance Vehicles models looks as striking as the Liquid Blue but unfortunately, Ford won’t paint it on a production vehicle, at least for now.
The pictures were clicked at an event in Dearborn, Michigan. The car’s blacked-out windows windshield, windows and back glass are like that on purpose. Like the forum member says, the GT in these pictures is a non-driveable show car.
The second generation Ford GT was unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The GT shown here is powered by a 600 hp+ 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. The twin-turbo powerplant on the production version is reported to produce over 700 hp. The all-new supercar will be built by Multimatic Motorsports in Ontario, Canada, with production beginning in late 2016.
