The 2017 GMC Canyon Denali has made its public debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. The vehicle will go on sale late in 2016.
The Canyon Denali will be offered as a crew cab model in six exterior colors. It has all the Denali hallmarks such as the chrome grille, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted accents, chrome fog lamp bezels, chrome assist steps, polished exhaust tip and a spray-in bed liner.
The interior has a jet black theme with perforated seats covered in Mulan leather and front seats also featuring heating and ventilation functions. The exclusive feeling is furthered by the unique trim on the console and instrument panel along with the ‘Denali’ branded sill plates and floor mats.
Standard features include heated steering wheel, 8-inch IntelliLink infotainment system with Android Auto and CarPlay support, OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot, automatic climate control and remote vehicle starter system. Safety systems such as Forward Collision Alert (FCA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) have also been incorporated.
Engine options include a 3.6-liter V6 gasoline unit producing 305 hp and 269 lb.-ft. (365 Nm) of torque, and a Duramax 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit churning out 181 hp and 369 lb.-ft. (500 Nm) of torque. Both engines are coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and come in two- and all-wheel drive configurations.
