The tenth generation 2016 Honda Civic sedan was official unveiled earlier this month and is due to go on sale in the U.S. market later this year. The sedan will be followed by a coupe version later next year, but there’s no confirmation if there will be an estate or a 3-door hatchback version in the near future. An estate version is expected to be sold in Europe though, as Honda already sells that version of the ninth generation Civic with the name ‘Civic Tourer’.
Two speculative renderings by The Temple of VTEC forum member Hondatalover preview how the estate and 3-door hatchback versions of the tenth generation Honda Civic may possibly look. The hatchback rendering could’ve been perfect if the doors were pushed back, but it’s still excellently done in terms of details. The estate version looks like the sportiest-ever estate to wear the Honda badge.
Philip Ross, Senior Vice President of Honda Motor Europe, announced this month that the tenth generation Honda Civic will be launched in Europe in early 2017. The Euro-spec 2016 Civic’s five-door model will be built at the company’s plant in Swindon in the UK. A 5-door hatchback version is likely to be launched next year, as reports say that Honda will be shipping the Civic Hatchback from the UK plant to North America next year. The next-gen ‘Civic Tourer’ or estate version can be expected to follow in 2017.
