Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage (facelift) at the 2015 LA Auto Show. This model will be seen in US showrooms by Spring 2016.
The automaker says that it has enhanced exterior design, improved performance and updated interiors. On the outside, the 2016 Mitsubishi Mirage has received revisions to the front and rear bumper, headlights, fog lamps, hood, grille, wheels and the rear spoiler. The styling revisions are done for enhanced aerodynamics which should improve performance and fuel efficiency.
The interior has also received its fair bit of updates. The steering wheel, instrument cluster and gearshift panel have been refreshed, while the seats have been upholstered in a new fabric. The infotainment system gains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as well as an optional 300-watt Rockford-Fosgate sound system.
There are also some revisions under the hood. A roller-type camshaft has been added to the the 1.2-liter three cylinder DOHC engine increasing its power to 78 hp from previous 74 hp. The 74 lb.-ft. (100 Nm) torque output remains unchanged. The revised suspension and the bigger brakes at the rear with better quality brake pads should help in improving dynamics and confidence behind the wheel.
Safety features standard on the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage include seven airbags, four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Traction Control Logic (TCL) and Active Stability Control (ASC).
Price and other details would be revealed closer to the launch date.
