The second generation Audi A7 is said to be arrive in 2017 and expected to go on sale as MY2018 model. According to a new report by Automobile, the next-gen A7 has been condemned the “C8” and Audi is working hard to make it look more than just an expensive and larger version of the A5 Sportback. The website states that the car will sport redesigned interior and exterior trims.
It will be lower and wider than the current model with restyled LED headlamps and a custom single-frame front grille. Moreover, the 2017 Audi A7 will also feature active aero aids and more integrated fender blisters. Inside, the cabin will be fitted with more modern instruments including a head-up display (HUD) with night-vision. Moreover, the infotainment system will be thoroughly upgraded and Audi is also looking to integrate the steering wheel with an in-dash video monitor.
Under the hood, the A7 will have a 252-hp 2.0-litre inline-four turbocharged engine, as per the report. In addition to that, a 326-hp version with electric turbocharging (e-boost) will also be made available to the customers. Meanwhile, the sportier S7 is expected to be fitted with a highly-tuned version of the 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine that will deliver up to 500 hp. The RS7 will continue with the 4.0-litre V8 which will generate 575 hp. The diesel V6 powerplant will produce up to 350 hp with e-boost. A plug-in hybrid variant will also be offered.
