Jaguar is working on a new range-topping F-Type model that will sit above the F-Type R AWD, says a new report from Motor Trend. The new flagship model will use the ‘SVR’ suffix which connotes that it is customized by Jaguar’s in-house bespoke division – Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations. The F-Type SVR will be more powerful not only than the F-Type R AWD, but also the entire product line-up of the brand.
The R AWD model sports a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 550 PS (542 hp) and 680 Nm of torque, and an 8-speed automatic transmission channels power to all four-wheels. It can do 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, and go further to hit a top speed of 300 km/h. The SVR model will sport the same engine, dialed up to produce over 600 hp. Some weight reduction measures and track-capable features are likely to be added pushing the F-Type SVR to clock 0-100 km/h in 3.x seconds and hit a top speed of more than 320 km/h.
