Following the Prologue concept, the Prologue Avant concept, Audi revealed the Prologue Allroad concept at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The 5-door plug-in hybrid vehicle concept is finished in Dehua White colour and is 77 mm (3.0 in) higher than the Prologue Avant concept.
The Prologue Allroad concept is essentially a rugged version of the Prologue Avant concept and the flared wheel arches that house five-arm design 22-inch wheels, give the appeal of a typical “Audi allroad” model.
What’s more impressive than the looks, is actually under the hood. The third concept in the Prologue series is not only the most rugged, but also the most powerful. The hybrid powertrain consists of a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged TFSI V8 petrol engine and an electric motor and the system outputs are rated at 734 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The powertrain is integrated into an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels through the signature, quattro all-wheel drive system.
Audi claims that the rugged estate can reach a speed of 100 km/h from standstill in just 3.5 seconds. While the Prologue Avant concept hints at the character future estates will take on, this concept hints the character of their Allroad versions.
