Audi has launched the new S8 Plus limited edition model in the UK. The S8 Plus will be available for order in October 2015 with a starting price of £97,700 OTR, deliveries are expected to commence from January 2016.

The S8 Plus sports a modified version of the 4.0 Litre TFSI engine offered in the standard S8. The uprated twin-turbo V8 engine produces 605 PS (597 hp) – 85 PS (83 hp) more than in the standard version. It features a special engine management control unit along with tweaked exhaust valves to boost pressure.

The engine puts out 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) of torque which can be increased momentarily using the overboost function to 750 Nm (553.2 lb-ft). The power is transmitted to the wheels via an 8-speed triptronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive system. A sports differential has also been commissioned at the rear to aid in directional stability along with dynamic steering.

The top speed of the S8 Plus is electronically limited to 155 mph (250 kmph) and when derestricted, the sporty saloon can sprint to 189 mph (304 kmph). It is claimed by the company to be the fastest accelerating model in the S range with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 3.8 seconds.

The S8 Plus features carbon fibre flaps in the side air intakes and on the front apron. The UK specification models will feature 21 inch alloy wheels in high gloss black shade along with fade resistant carbon ceramic brakes. Matrix LED headlamps with dynamic turn signals are offered as standard with darkened tail lamps, window trims and mirror housings as a part of black styling package.

The interior features MMI Navigation and a 14-speaker BOSE surround system as standard. The seats feature 22-way adjustability with memory function and are upholstered in black leather with contrast stitching.
