Mazda has introduced the 2015 Mazda CX-5 in Australia. The 2015 CX-5 is a facelifted model and will reach showrooms on February 1. The updated model has new grille, LED headlamps and LED taillamps, new 19-inch alloy wheel design and two new body paint options: Sonic Silver Metallic and Titanium Flash Mica. The suspension has been tweaked for a smoother, flatter ride. The noise, vibration and harshness has also been improved by path-blocking and concentrated sound absorption.
Inside, there’s the new MZD Connect infotainment system which has a 7-inch touchscreen display. The new model gets an electronic parking brake as well. ‘Drive Selection’ feature is also available on some models. The interior is now more comfortable with improved head room and rear leg room.
New safety and assistance features include full LED headlights with auto-high beam control, lane-keep assistance with steering adjustment, driver attention alert, smart city brake support and radar cruise control. Six airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution and a reversing camera.
Engine line-up remain the same – 2.0-litre petrol, 2.5-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel. The 2.0-litre petrol engine produces 114 kW (153 hp) and 200 Nm of torque and can be had with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5-litre petrol engine produces 138 kW (185 hp) and 250 Nm of torque. The 2.2-litre diesel engine produces 129 kW (173 hp) and 400 Nm of torque. The 2.5-litre petrol engine and the 2.2-litre diesel are available only with AWD and 6-speed automatic transmission.
The new Mazda CX-5 goes on sale from February 1.
