The 2016 Ford Focus RS has been priced at AU$50,990 in Australia. The high performance hatchback will be hitting showrooms by mid-2016.
All-new Focus RS customers will also have the option of equipping their car with a 19-inch performance tyre pack and prestige paint at the cost of AU$ 2,500 and AU$450 respectively. On the outside, the hatchback sports 19-inch cast alloys wrapped in 235/35 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres as standard fitment along with the RS bodykit, Bi-Xenon HID headlamps with adaptive lighting and LED daytime running lights as well as LED tail lamps.
Noteworthy interior features include Recaro sport seats; RS scuff plates; ambient lighting; dual-zone climate control; leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob; RS lettering carpet mats; push button start; 8-inch colour touchscreen with Ford SYNC 2 infotainment system supporting voice recognition, satellite navigation, Bluetooth, iPOD, USB and CD functionality with sound output from nine speakers.
The 2016 Ford Focus RS is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that dishes out 257 kW (345 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 440 Nm (470 Nm available in transient overboost) of torque available between 1,600 to 5,000 rpm range. Power is sent to all four wheels through the all-wheel drive system by a 6-speed manual transmission. The claimed combined fuel efficiency is 12.34 km/l with CO2 emissions measured at 190 g/km.
