Mazda has revealed details for the upcoming MX-5 for the Australian market by confirming the engine lineup and releasing images of the vehicle. There will be two engine options of the new MX-5: 1.5-litre four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G and 2.0-litre four-cylinder SKYACTIV-G, both being direct-injection petrol engines.
There will be an option of six-speed manual and automatic transmissions with both the engines. The fourth-generation roadster will run “ultra-high compression” with split twin exhausts. The fourth-generation MX-5, which world premiered earlier this year and was presented soon after at the Paris Motor Show, is 3,915 mm long, 1,730 mm wide and 1,235 mm tall, and will be in showrooms by mid-2015.
