BMW has big plans for the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The Swiss motor show will host two world premieres for the company: the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer and the new BMW 1 Series. The BMW M4 MotoGP Safety Car will also have its global debut. Innovative services for the BMW i models as well as “myKIDIO” in-car entertainment concept will be previewed.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer is a seven seat front-wheel drive minivan that will feature five newly developed turbocharged engines with power outputs ranging from 116 hp to 192 hp. CO2 emissions will fall in the range of 149-104 g/km.
The facelifted BMW 1-Series that will debut in Geneva features a revised front- and rear-end design in both 3- and 5-door versions. The refreshed model features latest-generation petrol and diesel engines.
The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car will be updated with additional range of standard equipment and new interior options.
The “myKIDIO” in-car entertainment app will be previewed. The first BMW to feature this app in fully integrated form is the 2 Series Gran Tourer. The app provides access to entertainment options like TV series, movies, audio books and audio plays on tablet computers, and can be operated using the iDrive Controller and Control Display after linking the mobile device with the car.
Rear passengers can also access journey information like arrival time, range and outside temperature. This feature should expand from Germany to international markets very soon.
