Rendering – BMW sub 1-Series front wheel drive car

BMW sub 1 series car

BMW recently announced that it is planning to launch front wheel drive models in the future. These front wheeled drive cars would be positioned between the Mini and the BMW 1-series. We have a few renderings of what the BMW sub 1-series front wheel drive car could look like.

The new front wheel drive car from BMW would be badged a 1-series. This would be to offer customers a wider choice in the BMW range.

BMW’s front wheel drive car could be using Mini’s platform. The car would be the most efficient BMW ever and would come with advanced technologies like the Start-stop system, Brake energy regeneration and a whole lot of Efficient Dynamics tech.

The car could also come with small 3-cylinder or 4-cylinder diesel engines that would result from BMW and Peugeot-Citroen’s engine sharing pact. Small petrol engines could also be used.

In spite of being a front wheel drive car, BMW would be looking to induce some of the ‘sheer driving pleasure’ characteristics into the mini-BMW.

The car is expected to come by 2013 and would be produced at the company’s Leipzig plant in Germany.
