Power is sent to the wheels via a dual-clutch transmission with the help of an all-wheel drive system. The BX7 reaches 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 10 seconds, and has a top speed in excess of 200 km/h (124 mph). Borgward is also planning a plug-in hybrid version of the BX7 that will also feature a 2.0-litre combustion engine which will be assisted by an electric motor.
