The Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo virtual concept has been officially revealed ahead of its official presentation at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show (2015 IAA) this month. Developed in cooperation with Polyphony Digital, a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment, the Vision GT will be presented in 1:1 scale in Frankfurt, and available for download on the popular PlayStation video game franchise Gran Turismo.
The Vision Gran Turismo concept appears to be built upon the Veyron and retains a similar structure overall. However, the structure is significantly modified so as to make it look distinctive enough for a Gran Turismo franchise contender.
The front fascia looks lethal with the rage given by the eight LED headlights, characteristic horseshoe -shaped radiator grille, front canards and aerodynamic splitter. Similarly, the side profile and rear fascia also see lot of aerodynamic elements that aid in visual appeal as well. The interior, although being basic, appears to be truly exotic, distinctive and contain all the necessary features required in a race car.
The Bugatti Vision GT is likely to preview the design of the Bugatti Veyron’s successor, the Bugatti Chiron (name unconfirmed), which could have its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. According to a report from Car Magazine, it will be priced from €2.2 million (£1.6m) at launch, which is almost double to that of the €1.3 million 2005 Bugatti Veyron 16.4. While the Veyron’s production run was limited to 450 units, Bugatti will build 500 units of the Bugatti Chiron.
Volkswagen Group CEO Martin Winkertorn has confirmed that the production version will sport a hybrid powertrain. An earlier report suggests that the hybrid powertrain would comprise of a quad-turbo 8.o-litre W16 engine that produces 1,500 PS (1,480 bhp) and 1,106 lb.-ft. (1,500 Nm) of torque. It will be capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 2.0 seconds and hitting a top speed of 288 mph (464 km/h). A 7-speed DCT gearbox along with 4WD system will do the job of channeling power to the wheels.
