The Buick Envision a midsize crossover that is positioned just above the Buick Encore and was launched in China at 2015 Auto Shanghai in April. According to a report by Automotive News, the midsize crossover could be introduced in the U.S. by fall 2016.
The Envision is the first Buick vehicle launched that features GM’s new global compact platform codenamed D2XX. The platform, which launched on the Cruze in China last year, also underpins Verano and will generate the next generation 2017 Equinox.
On the Envision, a 2.0L Turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 260 hp and 334.88 Nm that’s currently offered in China could also make it to the U.S. version, among bigger motors.
The Buick Enclave is also set to receive an update; the second generation of the full-size SUV is stated for a mid-2017 release. The Buick Enclave had been launched back in 2007 with it receiving a facelift in 2013. It will be built on a new platform (E2XX platform) that will be lighter and may feature GM’s 3.6L V6 engine with upgrades.
