The Cadillac ELR that was facelifted last month is on its way to European shores. A Cadillac official has allegedly confirmed that the company has plans to introduce the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in Europe, claims a new report from Inautonews. When the eco-friendly luxury vehicle will go on sale in the region still remains a mystery but it can be expected later this year in the European specification.
The new CT6 flagship sedan that was unveiled at the 2015 New York International Auto Show last month is also headed to Europe. The company may introduce both the ELR and the CT6 in Europe at the 2015 International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September.
To boost European sales, the company is also making a comeback in the UK with a new dealership in London, as per a previous report. Even this report stated that the company is planning to bring the ELR in Europe by 2016, along with the CT6. It added that the company is expecting the annual sales figure in the UK to remain under 1,000 units while sales in Europe can be expected to improve as the company plans to invest US$12bn in vehicle development by 2020 and focus on more right-hand drive vehicles and diesel engines – which will directly benefit its European subsidiaries.
